Construction Workers

College Scholarships for Children of Georgia Construction Workers

Supporting students whose parent or guardian was seriously or fatally injured on a construction job site and is eligible for Georgia workers’ compensation benefits.

Georgia’s construction workers build the roads, buildings, and infrastructure our communities depend on. When a serious or fatal workplace accident impacts a construction family, Kids’ Chance of Georgia helps ensure a child’s education stays within reach.

SUPPORTING THE FAMILIES THAT BUILD GEORGIA

Construction remains one of the most physically demanding and high-risk industries in Georgia.

When an on-the-job injury or fatal accident occurs, families often face sudden financial and emotional challenges, especially when planning for a child’s college education.

Kids’ Chance of Georgia was created to stand in that gap, providing educational scholarships that help students move forward with stability, dignity, and hope.

We believe the children of Georgia’s construction workforce deserve every opportunity to succeed.

FOR STUDENTS PURSUING THEIR FUTURE

If your parent was seriously or fatally injured in a work-related accident while working in the Georgia construction industry, you may be eligible for a Kids’ Chance of Georgia scholarship.

Our scholarships help students:

  • Attend college, trade school, or technical programs
  • Reduce the financial burden of higher education
  • Stay focused on achieving their goals

Eligible students may attend colleges, universities, trade schools, and technical programs anywhere in the United States. Eligibility is based on the worker’s connection to Georgia workers’ compensation benefits, not where a student lives or attends school.

Every application is reviewed with care and confidentiality.

FOR PARENTS SUPPORTING A COLLEGE-BOUND STUDENT

A serious construction injury can change a family’s financial outlook overnight. Planning for college should not add additional stress during an already difficult time.

If your child’s parent was seriously or fatally injured while working in the construction industry and was eligible for Georgia workers’ compensation benefits, your student may qualify for scholarship support.

Our team helps families:

  • Understand eligibility requirements
  • Navigate the application process
  • Access additional educational resources

We are committed to making this process supportive, respectful, and clear.

Many of our most impactful scholarships are funded by organizations deeply connected to Georgia’s construction workforce.

CREATING REAL IMPACT FOR STUDENTS

When Courtney’s family was impacted by a serious workplace injury, the path to higher education became uncertain.

Through Kids’ Chance of Georgia, Courtney received not only financial support but also encouragement and connection during a pivotal time in her life.

“This program not only gave me financial support, but also gave me my job, my mentor, and moral support.”

Today, Courtney’s journey reflects what is possible when the construction community comes together to support its families.
